ABOUT THE BID

In November of 2008, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation began the process of bidding on Super Bowl XLVII with the New Orleans Saints by the formation of the New Orleans Super Bowl Bid Committee. After 6 months of working with the NFL and collaborating with various citywide organizations, venues, hotels, and municipal leaders the final bid was creatively packaged and delivered to the NFL team owners. On May 18th, 2009, following our final presentation, the NFL owners voted to award Super Bowl XLVII to New Orleans in 2013.

The now formed New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee would like to thank and acknowledge the following groups who played a vital role in our successful bid process and its creative development:
